We specialise in installing 10-16 panel systems in the Buckinghamshire, Bedfordshire and Hertfordshire area, on south facing roofs, with little or no shading.
You can estimate the amount of electricity you will generate by putting your post code and the size of system (typically 2KW peak power) into the EU Photovoltaic Geographical Information Website.
Solar panels come in various outputs between 185watts and 250watts (2.5kW). A typical 10 panels system is 2.2kw. The components of a system are as follows.
The array of solar panels
We source our panels from major suppliers such as Hyundai and Sanyo who offer you a 20 year guarantee. There are no moving parts and they have proved very reliable.
Inverter
Solar panels generate DC current (like a battery). Mains electricity is AC and needs to be at 230v. An inverter is a key part of the system that does the conversion of DC to AC. The invertor also synchronises both the voltage and the wave form with the national grid so that you can feed in the generated electricity.
Inverters are usually located in the loft, close to your panels as we try to minimise losses that can occur in DC circuits. You can of course see the power you have generated on the Total Generation Meter, which is usually next to your fuse board, but the instantaneous information is displayed on the inverter. For this reason we provide a personal display meter which communicates with the inverter by Bluetooth that tells you what power you are generating instantly or by day, week, month or year. Many suppliers miss this important element or charge you extra; we think it’s an essential part of the system.
The choice of inverter is very important to match the number of panels and efficiency of the overall system. The wrong choice of inverter can reduce the amount of yield by 5-10%.
Solar Strategies use a number of software tools to exactly calculate your needs (sometimes multiple inverters are needed for large systems). We then match your needs with the best technical solution either from Fronius or SMA, both are excellent suppliers but have different specifications.

Solar panels
Solar panels are silicon semiconductors that produce electricity from direct or diffuse light that’s shines on them. We use panels from all leading suppliers dependant on the needs of the particular installation.
All major panels offer excellent build quality and includes a guarantee for over 25 years. With no moving parts they are proving very reliable and have a projected life of up to 50 years.
There are many types of panels and efficiencies. However in our experience other than cosmetic appearance such as black panels there is little difference between them. Efficiency is important in some people’s eyes however it is usually the costs per watt which is the most important factor. We choose panels that will fit a particular installation and give the best investment returns without ever compromising on quality, after all these panels are going to be on your roof for at least 25 years.

Connection to the mains
To be able to get the Feed in Tarrif your system needs to be installed by someone MCS approved and connected to the mains electricity. We provide all of the meters, wiring and switches to install the system.
Commissioning the system
Once the system is installed and tested we will give you all of the forms and sign offs and help you through the process of getting the feed in tariffs from your electricity supplier
Putting your post code into our system will allow us to analyse your location and estimate if you house is suitable for Solar Panels before you take it to the next step and get a free survey.
